This week’s Missed Connection isn’t so much a missed opportunity, but rather an educated observation on the whole ‘Missed Connection’ business.

Calgary, a city of over one million people, likes to boast that it’s a world-class cosmopolitan city; as an outsider, despite these many years, I find there are cracks in that worldview.

Hitchcock called The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1926) his first film, and aside from being the earliest surviving Hitchcock film, it introduces the audience to a style that eventually defines Hitchcock as a director.
