This week’s installment of MCs gets a little personal. And by “a little personal”, I mean that if one word was changed in this ad, yours truly could have had a mysterious missed connection on her hands. But, alas, the long lost lady has eyes of blue, not beady brown bespectacled eyes.
I don’t know why there is such a high occurrence of MCs about chicks who work at the cult of the green apron. I mean, as a general rule, coffee shop girls are cute; they have a certain quirky charm about them. But all these concerned missed connections are getting a little out of hand. True, I DO work at a coffee shop that may/may not be a Starbucks, so naturally, I do read these with heightened interest. And it is also true that the missed connections Calgarians have put forth this week kind of blow, but next time you are hanging out at one of the many Starbucks in your neighbourhood, take a close look at the creeps talking up the baristas. They may be making an appearance in this column in the weeks to come.
