Heapster Predictions
Carlene:

Winner: Ron Howard
David:
Winner: Gus Van Sant
Yaschuk:
Winner: Danny Boyle/David Fincher
Marshall:
A bunch of great directors in this group. This is Fincher’s first, which is amazing, but it is disappointing that it wasn’t for a better film. I think Danny Boyle will win this year.
Winner: Danny Boyle
Kevin:
And Danny Boyle for directing a movie as good as Slumdog that would not have turned out as well as it did if any other director had attempted this.
Winner: Danny Boyle
Tyler:
Winner: Danny Boyle
Grant:
Winner: Danny Boyle

Heapster Predictions
Carlene:
Slumdog Millionaire. If that Benjamin Buttons gets it, I’ll eat my hat.
Winner: Slumdog Millionaire
David:
Winner: Frost/Nixon
Yaschuk:
Benjamin Button (I can see this going to Slumdog or Frost/Nixon here, too)
Winner: Benjamin Button
Marshall:
I’m so conflicted. Button is exactly the kind of film that the Academy usually awards its top prize to. However, Slumdog just has the momentum going in. Hmmmm… I’ll go with Slumdog, although this is certainly a time where I would love to know how close the vote was.
Winner: Slumdog Millionaire
Kevin:
Slumdog Millionaire. This movie hit all the right chords and, as per some female friends of mine, apparently played the sad moments very well. Not to mention this film blew my mind. Literally *pkawp*[1]
Winner: Slumdog Millionaire
Tyler:
I will commit murder if this film doesn’t get it. As mentioned, the Academy is known for giving Best Picture to films like Benjamin Button, but Slumdog is clearly the better picture.
Winner: Slumdog Millionaire
Grant:
There isn’t a debate here… no reason to talk about it. It is time for an uplifting flick to take this home.
Winner: Slumdog Millionaire
