Ok... should I go back to work? I will be taking votes now...

Blog Despondence

I remember when I first signed up to this crazy myspace thing and I was all pumped about keeping my very own BLOG! It was a new and exciting time. I could post my every thought online for the world to see! There even existed the possibility of meeting someone who shared my beliefs, opinions, likes/dislikes, or (egads!) thought just like me!

Things have since changed. I don’t give a fuck. Not because I stopped looking for someone to share myself with (though with Kym now in my life, looking has dropped drastically in priority) but because myspace has sunk. It’s all over now. Myspace has fallen to the depths of prostitution and self-indulgence. It is now a tool for whoring one’s self or band or website or blowjob services. It’s just absurd. I’m ashamed to say I have a myspace page. I’d just rather say “Check out my unfinished, poorly programmed homepage, TylerHauser.com“, just because myspace sucks that bad. It’s polluted with glitches and functionality issues, and yet it continues to “expand” it’s features by adding more photos, videos, media players, slideshows… essentially just more shoddily programmed, bandwidth-hogging garbage. I’m just fed up with the whole thing.

I understand that myspace has become THE place to promote one’s band or music due to it’s outstanding user database, but that’s no excuse to keep feeding people this trash. I’m actually quite impressed with the number of people AGAINST myspace I keep finding everywhere. There seems to be a healthy number of normal people who just can’t put up with such an unreliable, insecure website. It’d give me hope that someday someone will create something new, stable and functional, but that’ll never happen. Well, it may. But it’d be plagued with many of the same problems associated with myspace.

It’s just human nature: when in large groups, humans are retarded. And, by design, the internet is the largest group of humans on the planet. The worse human traits are bound to come about. It’s still nice to think that someone, someday might come up with some revolutionary idea that with change public communities like myspace for the best.

That’s it.
