What is good about it:
MAN… the sad thing is I am a huge fan of many people in this movie, and many performances in this movie… I am not going to go into detail, for I am still recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome… but anyways, ZB is fantastic in his first straight up comedic lead, and his foil JB is just as fantastic. Amanda is someone that always makes me happy, her beauty and comedic timing aren’t rivaled by many in the film world, and her performance in this flick is no different. Charles Grodin is one actor whom I am a huge fan of, and this is his first film role in THIRTEEN YEARS!!! Which makes me think that the script must have been hilarious… anyways onto the meat of the review…

What is bad about it:
Everything aside from the performances… If the direction of the film had been focused on the duel between Jason and ZB then the film would have had a voice. The film COULD have been a success in the vain of ‘Meet The Parents’ (but better), but the film slothed along, and refused to pick up the pace when the subject matter and the actors BEGGED for the film to speed up. Many scenes with Amanda were unnecessary, and appear to have been put in there just to curry favor with the potential female audience… losing the focus on the fact that they needed to attract any audience.

Epilogue:
To sum up. I love all the actors, and they did wonderfully. I suspect I would love the original script if I had a chance to read it, but boy did they need to hire a proper director that could interpret it for what it was, a fluffy comedy.
I am best friends with ZB (which you can tell cause I call him ZB) and to prove that, you can see that I am in fact his myspace friend… so there… anyways… so this film was hard for me to watch… basically my emotions were this… I really wanted to like it, but i didn’t… which makes me sad… something similar to going to watch your best friend play baseball, and when you get there, you are pretty sure he is left handed even though your friend is certain he is right…

Never watch this film.
